The 4th Vietnamese – French Open Blood & Marrow Transplantation Congress was held in Nha Trang city on October 21-22, 2016. More than 250 leading professors, doctors, physicians, nurses, bachelors and technicians nationwide and over 20 haematological stem cell transplantation experts from France, Belgium and the U.S.A attended.
The event was held by Ho Chi Minh City Haematology & Blood Transfusion Hospital in association with C.H.U Grenoble University and Grenoble Blood Transfusion Center (France). At the conference, attendants discussed and learned the latest scientific research in haematology, high-tech tests; blood transfusion and blood transfusion in haematological stem cell transplantation; and stem cell banks. This was a chance for medical experts to learn and develop haematological stem cell transplantation.
At present, 9 centers nationwide are developing haematological stem cell transplantation with 578 successful cases, including 222 cases conducted by Ho Chi Minh City Haematology & Blood Transfusion Hospital, the nation’s first hospital to have successfully performed haematological stem cell transplantation in 1996.
